Pokémon DS games online today: GTS and battle videos

Nintendo's servers for Pokémon Diamond to Black 2 closed in 2014. Poké Classic Network brings back the GTS and battle videos: what works and how to connect.

What closed

The Generation IV and V Pokémon games on Nintendo DS used Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for trading and battles online. Nintendo discontinued that service on 20 May 2014. For the fifth-generation games, Wikipedia records that the Pokémon Dream World had already closed on 14 January 2014. The games still work offline; only the online services stopped.

Poké Classic Network

Poké Classic Network is an unofficial server for these games. On 6 November 2026 its website described it as providing the Global Trade System (GTS) and battle videos, and its homepage showed live GTS listings and more than 21,000 uploaded battle videos. Its GTS page lets you filter by every game in this list:

What it does not cover

The website names only the GTS, battle videos and related services. Other features of the original service, such as the Pokémon Dream World, are not listed, so this directory marks the project as Partial Support. Do not expect every online menu in the game to work.

How to connect

Setup is a DNS change in the Wi-Fi settings of your DS: the website gives the primary DNS address to enter and says the secondary DNS must be blank or the same. Copy the address from the website itself rather than from a video or forum post, because addresses can change. The site says it runs in combination with Wiimmfi and Kaeru WFC, and that it cannot guarantee compatibility with other replacement servers.

Maintenance

The website lists a weekly maintenance window on Thursdays at 03:00 UTC. If the GTS does not respond at that time, wait and try again later.
